To be or not to be
To be, or not to be–that is the question:
>Huge, bright red block letters on my lawn “BE” “not to BE”
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
>Brain with a cane walking through the gate
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
>Between the iron gate and the wooden door, a siege engine and a group of archers protect Scrooge McDuck’s sea of gold coins
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
>God of war figure jumping into -a scene from a movie whose name I do not recall… basically a bottomless fissure that is home to these golems…
And by opposing end them. To die, to sleep—
>Juliet lying in the piano
No more–and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache, and the thousand natural shocks
>Visible wound on her left chest
>Defibrillator
That flesh is heir to. ‘Tis a consummation
>consummation: the point at which something is complete or finalized
>Romeo on one knee, kissing Juliet’s hand
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep—
>graffiti on the wall DIE SLEEP
To sleep–perchance to dream: ay, there’s the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come
>Dracula’s coffin
>comic thought bubbles
When we have shuffledoff this mortal coil,
>Quest crew shuffling on rotating, metal coil (large)
Must give us pause. There’s the respect
That makes calamity of so long life.
>Last Samurai; humble American officers
>Brouhaha in the village
For who would bear the whips and scorns of time,
>character reference from Chinese 三国
Th’ oppressor’s wrong, the proud man‘s contumely
>Kim Jung Un posing with Barney Stinson
The pangs of despised love, the law’s delay,
>Pride and Prejudice scene; Anders Breivik’s trial
The insolence of office, and the spurns
>a random soap opera reference: businessperson who is tried for corruption sitting in his desk
That patient merit of th’ unworthy takes,
>医院改革 debate; lineup at pharmacy
[When he himself might his quietus make
With a bare bodkin]? Who would fardels bear,
>Last Samurai: warrior performing seppuko
>a brown bear carrying a “fardel”
To grunt and sweat under a weary life,
>Katherina Ivanovna Marmeladov washing rugs
But that the [dread of something after death],
>Christian praying, to little avail
The undiscovered country, from whose bourn
>World map spread on table
No traveller returns, puzzles the will,
>Will Hunting intrigued by a jigsaw puzzle
And makes us rather bear those ills we have
>Katherina Ivanovna Marmeladov coughing blood into her handkerchief
Than fly to others that we know not of?
>Luggage with name tag
Thus conscience does make cowards of us all,
>a group of scientists gathering in the dining room, debating whether to drop the atomic bomb
And thus the native hue of resolution
>Macbook PRO
Is sicklied o’er with the pale cast of thought,
>Customer perturbed by the price tag
And enterprise of great pitch and moment
>Mark Zuckerberg
With this regard their currents turn awry
>stock figures plunging
And lose the name of action.
>Hamlet, with a sword in hand, wavers as to whether to enter the room

Polonius’ advice to Leartes
Look thou character.
>mirror
Give thy thoughts no tongue,
>torture device
Nor any unproportion’d thought his act.
>scene, hot lady opens the door
>A balance, with a naked lady on one side, and Rodion Romanovich Raskolnikov on the other
Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar;
>a hug
>X
The friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,
>gentlemen drinking coffee on sofa; Mugs with Obama’s birth certificate
Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;
>replacement of chandelier: two prisoners tied together
But do not dull thy palm with entertainment
>Weightlifter putting lifting chalk on his hand
Of each new-hatch’d, unfledg’d comrade. Beware
>A baffoon frat, recent undergrad inviting for a bro fist
Of entrance to a quarrel, but, being in,
>Debating politics in living room
Bear ‘t that th’ opposed may beware of thee.
>A man aiming his gun
Give every man thine ear, but few thy voice;
>Van Gogh offering his bleeding ear
>Marlee Matlin
(Take each man’s censure, but reserve thy judgment.)
>Elizabeth observing Darcy who speaks hurtful lines
Costly thy habit as thy purse can buy,
>Taylormade golf bag. Purse hanging off exposed driver.
But not express’d in fancy; rich, not gaudy; X
For the apparel oft proclaims the man.
>Business executives determining eligibility for a management position based on pictures; Barney Stinson
[Neither a borrower, nor a lender be;
For loan oft loses both itself and friend,]
>Chewy begging for money, YOU counting money
And borrowing dulls the edge of husbandry.
>Rodion Romanovich Raskolnokov lying in rags, Sonya helplessly looking at him
This above all: to thine own self be true,
>arnold schwarzenegger lifting an unfit clone of himself
And it must follow, as the night the day,
>transition (window)
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
>Lie detector

It is interesting. I like it. Don’t give up. Keep it up.
Another soliloquy will be up by Saturday. (from hamlet)
check out the poetry section too!
Thanks for your comment! I will keep working on this blog.
This is cool. I wish more people would share their memorization processes.
Thank you! There are a lot of websites and books that teach you the methods, but few that demonstrate how the methods are employed. Thanks for your comment!
